Katherine LaChance, Assistant Principal

Welcome to Montgomery Elementary! I am excited to begin my 11th year in education and honored to serve the Montgomery community as your Assistant Principal.

One of the greatest gifts of my career has been the opportunity to serve students in many different roles. I began my career as a paraprofessional before becoming a classroom teacher, math interventionist, math instructional coach, and now assistant principal. Each experience has strengthened my belief that every role in a school matters and that every child deserves our best, every single day. Along the way, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Texas A&M University and my Master of Education in Educational Administration from Lamar University. I am also a proud graduate of North East ISD and am honored to now serve students and families within the district.

I became an educator because I believe every child deserves a safe, supportive environment where they feel known, valued, and challenged to reach their full potential. My personal vision— Learning First. Leadership Always. Transparency Throughout.—reflects my belief that we never stop learning, everyone has the potential to lead, and strong schools are built on trust and authentic relationships. I believe strong relationships, honest communication, and high expectations create a culture where both students and educators can learn, lead, and thrive. By partnering with our students, staff, and families, I hope to help create a school where every child is supported, challenged, and inspired to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

When I am not at school, my favorite place to be is with my son. We love spending time outdoors, whether we're hiking, exploring a new park, or simply enjoying time together. I also enjoy drawing, spending time with my dog, Rylee, and have been playing the flute for more than 20 years. As both an educator and a mom, I have a deep appreciation for the trust families place in our school each day.

I am truly excited to be a part of the Montgomery family and look forward to getting to know each of you. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your child's educational journey. I cannot wait to see all that we accomplish together.
